    About Piper Aircraft

William Piper launched Piper Aircraft in 1937 following his acquisition of the assets of Taylor Brothers Aircraft Manufacturing Company, which was founded in 1927. The manufacturer later introduced the Piper Cub to the world, fueled by the notion that everyone should experience the wonder of flight.

    Piper Seneca V Piston Twin

Piper aircraft is now headquartered in Vero Beach, Florida. Over the decades, the manufacturer has delivered tens of thousands of single- and twin-engine pistons and turboprops for business, personal, and trainer applications to private owners, flight schools and academies, charter companies, and other buyers across the world. The company celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2017.

    The Flagship

In 2015, Piper introduced an updated M-Class lineup of single-engine, pressurized, business turboprops: the M350, M500, and M600. As an update of the M500, the all-new M600 featured a brand-new wing design and a new interior scheme, personalized design packages, a more powerful Pratt & Whitney engine, and Garmin G3000 avionics.

In October 2019, Piper began offering the six-seat M600/SLS (Safety, Luxury, and Support), an M600 variant that notably comes with the HALO Safety System with Garmin Autoland as standard equipment. Garmin Autoland is a suite of digital control technologies that collectively are capable of safely landing the airplane at the nearest suitable airport in the event that the pilot becomes incapacitated. The M600/SLS received type certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in 2020 and 2021, respectively.

Piper Aircraft Personal & Trainer Models

Piper’s lineup of personal aircraft includes the Archer DX, Archer LX, M350, M500, and Seneca. The firm’s trainers include the Archer DX, Archer TX, Pilot 100i, and Seminole. The value-priced Pilot 100i was announced in April 2019 and received its FAA type certification in December 2020. Piper designed the 100i based on direct input from flight school students and instructors.

In April 2020, Piper certified its 1,000th Seminole, a piston twin aircraft that Piper claims is the leading twin-engine trainer in the world. The Seminole received type certification in 1978, and the first Seminole was delivered that same year.
