Agile Spray Response, industry leader in the provision of cost-effective aerial spray systems to protect marine environments from oil-spill pollution, has signed a teaming agreement with Australian specialist aviation operator Cobham for the Australasia region.

With its considerable experience in the provision of services in support of the Australian oil and gas industry and long history of unique, mission-specific flying, Cobham is the perfect partner to fly aircraft equipped with ASR’s CONVERT400 spray system, says ASR CEO Phil Cole.

“Cobham is a natural fit with ASR,” says Cole. “Cobham has a pedigree in special operations and understands the needs of the oil and gas industry. We look forward to working with them going forward.”

Cobham Business Development Director Tim Pirga said: “We can absolutely see the potential of the UK Government-backed CONVERT400 system for Australasia and we look forward to exploring the opportunity and moving it forward.”

ASR’s spray system is ‘roll-on / roll-off’ and can be fitted to a cargo-carrier Boeing 737 in around three hours. That means that the host aircraft can be used in other roles when not required on oil-spill duties, removing the need to have a dedicated oil-spray jet on standby and thus providing a substantial reduction in costs.

    About Agile Spray Response

Agile Spray Response (ASR) offers a cost-effective aerial spray capability to protect marine environments from oil-spill pollution.

ASR’s industry leading CONVERT400 system is a state-of-the-art, comprehensively tested, modular air cargo palletized aerial spray system with both EASA and FAA approvals. Currently flown in cargo-converted Boeing 737-400 aircraft, CONVERT400 can be installed to be mission capable in three hours. This flexibility allows the aircraft to be purposed in both roles: an optimal aerial dispersant spray asset and a revenue-earning air freight carrier.
