Dassault Aviation is bringing its Falcon 6X executive jet to the biennial Singapore Airshow taking place at the Changi Exhibition Centre. The appearance is the 16-passenger aircraft’s first in Asia since it entered service last year. Introduced in 2018 as the first extra-widebody business jet, the 6X received European Union Aviation Safety Agency and Federal Aviation Administration certifications in August 2023.

Dassault’s Falcon 2000LXS is also appearing at the trade show. Dassault has sold roughly 700 units of the plane, the latest variant of its 2000 series. The jet has a 4,000-nautical-mile (7,400-kilometre) range that enables nonstop flights from Singapore to anywhere in Asia and Australia while providing short-field capability comparable to smaller midsize jets.

    On A Worldwide Tour

The 6X has been on a worldwide tour demonstrating its performance capabilities and showing off what Dassault says is the largest cabin cross section of any purpose-built business jet. Following the Singapore Airshow, the tour will continue through Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and other Asia-Pacific locations.

“Operators who have flown the 6X as it has made its way around the globe praise the unparalleled quietness, comfort, and spaciousness of the cabin,” says Eric Trappier, Dassault Aviation chairman and CEO. “The 6X also retains the peerless handling, versatility, and short-field capability typical of all our Falcons.”

    Dassault’s Falcon 6X & 2000LXS Inspected

The 6X has a 5,500-nm (10,186-km) range, good enough for nonstop flights from Singapore to Johannesburg or Beijing to San Francisco. Its twin Pratt & Whitney Canada PW812D engines can operate on up to 50% blends of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The cabin provides 52.2 cubic metres (1,843 cubic feet) of space and boasts 30 extra-large windows and a skylight.

Launched in 2012, the 2000LXS can fly up to 10 passengers. It has a 2.34-m (7.7-ft)-wide cabin providing 1.88 m (6.2 ft) of headroom. The plane’s EASy II flight deck is available with the FalconEye Combined Vision System, which equips the aircraft for low-visibility approaches to a decision height of 100 ft (30.5 m).

    Expanding Service Support

Dassault says more than 100 Falcon aircraft are operating in the Asia-Pacific region. To support them, the manufacturer continues to expand its MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul) service offerings in the region. In late March, its ExecuJet MRO Services affiliate will open a new 13,900-sq-m (149,500-sq-ft) service centre in Kuala Lumpur. ExecuJet MRO Services also runs full-service support facilities in Sydney, Perth, and Melbourne, Australia.
