Textron Aviation’s Premiair Aviation Centres Now Approved To Service & Support All In-Country Beechcraft, Cessna & Hawker Turbine Aircraft
Textron Aviation recently announced that maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) provider Premiair Aviation has received Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) approval to service and support all in-country Beechcraft, Cessna, and Hawker turboprop and jet aircraft. Textron acquired Premiair Aviation in January 2020 to strengthen its service offerings in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region and expand its global support network of company-owned service centres. Premiair Aviation has service stations in the Gold Coast, Melbourne, and Perth.
Textron says about 1,400 of its Beechcraft, Cessna, and Hawker aircraft are operating in the APAC region. Between 2013 and 2020, the manufacturer delivered more than 50 new turbine aircraft to Australia, its fourth-largest turboprop market. During that period, Textron Aviation says its turboprop deliveries made up about 70% of all general-aviation turboprop deliveries to the APAC market.
Seamless Support
Textron notes that CASA’s approval also covers non-type-rated piston and turbine aircraft weighing less than 5,700 kilograms (12,566 pounds) and piston and turbine engine helicopters weighing in at less than 3,175 kg (6,999 lbs). This means the majority of general-aviation aircraft in use in Australia are covered.
“We have significantly invested in employee training and equipment over the last year to expand our capabilities and ensure CASA approval for the full range of Cessna Citation, Cessna Caravan, and Beechcraft King Air aircraft in Australia,” says Bradley Mortimer, Premiair Service Centers general manager. “Today marks an exciting milestone in the Premiair journey. It demonstrates our ongoing dedication to delivering exceptional quality and seamless support to customers in Australia.”
Textron & Australia
Mortimer says Premiair Aviation will continue to pursue new certifications, add technical capabilities, and expand its MRO capabilities. “This is part of Textron Aviation’s continued investment in the Asia Pacific region aimed at delivering the best aviation experience to our customers,” he says.
Textron has nearly 3,000 employees in its global support network helping provide maintenance, inspections, parts, repairs, upgrades, installations, refurbishments, and other services.
