Company History
Founded in 1958 by Roy Grumman as the Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation, Gulfstream is credited with releasing the world’s first purpose-built business aircraft with the Gulfstream I. Other Gulfstream-related industry firsts include producing the first business jet to cross the Atlantic Ocean nonstop (Gulfstream GII), the first to fly over the North and South Poles (Gulfstream GIII), the first to cross the Atlantic powered on biofuels (Gulfstream G450), and first civil aviation cabin to include satellite communications (Gulfstream GIV).
Gulfstream Lineup
Gulfstream’s current business jets range from the super-midsized Gulfstream G280 seating up to 10 people to its latest flagship, the G700, a 19-passenger jet expected to enter service in 2022. The G700 jet has a 7,500-nautical-mile (13,890-kilometer) range and maximum speed of Mach 0.925, and it headlines Gulfstream’s all-new aircraft family also including the clean-sheet G500 and the Gulfstream G600. The G700 introduces Gulfstream’s all-new interior, including an ultra-galley with more than 10 feet of counter space and a passenger lounge, as well as a grand suite with a shower.
