A Classic V-Tail with a Modern Panel The H35 is the 1957 model-year V-tail Bonanza: four seats, retractable gear and a fuel-injected Continental IO-470-G. N474Z pairs that classic airframe with a panel built for real IFR flying and a list of practical upgrades: a one-piece windshield in place of the original two-piece windshield and center post, tinted windows, a Plane Power alternator, a Hartzell starter, a full-flow spin-on oil filter, and GAMIjectors for smooth, lean-of-peak capable fuel injection. The Garmin GTN 650 touchscreen GPS/NAV/COMM with WAAS flies GPS approaches down to LPV minimums and couples to the Garmin GFC 500 digital autopilot for hands-off approaches, altitude and vertical speed holds, and a one-button Level mode. Dual Garmin G5s serve as the attitude indicator and HSI, each with a backup battery, so the vacuum system is gone entirely. A Garmin GTX 335 transponder provides ADS-B Out, a Garmin GMA 340 audio panel handles the intercom, a JPI EDM 700 monitors EGT and CHT on every cylinder, and a Bendix/King KX 155 with glideslope serves as a second NAV/COM. Inspections, Interior and Paint N474Z has a current annual inspection completed in June 2026. In May 2025 the main landing gear struts were removed, resealed and serviced.
