Dassault Aviation will attend the National Business Aviation Association Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) running 12th to 14th October in Las Vegas with full-scale cabin mockups of its upcoming Falcon 10X and Falcon 6X business jets. The French aviation company will also display an updated version of its flagship Falcon 8X executive jet.

“We are investing considerable talent and resources in developing new capabilities for long-range travelers,” says Dassault Aviation Chairman and CEO Eric Trappier. “Operators will be excited to see exactly what this is going to mean for the onboard flying experience.”

    The Falcon 10X

Billed as the market’s largest and most advanced purpose-built business jet, the all-new Falcon 10X was introduced in May 2021, and is set to enter service in 2025. At NBAA-BACE, Dassault will display a full-scale 10X cabin mockup for the first time. Measuring 2 metres (6.7 feet) high and 2.8 m (9.1 ft) wide, the cabin is larger than some regional jets’, Dassault says, which allowed the interior design teams to “imagine a cabin environment more characteristic of a posh penthouse apartment than a leading high-end business aircraft.”

The cabin provides space for up to four zones with plenty of customisation options, including an expanded dining/conference area or a master suite with private, stand-up shower. The jet is powered by new Rolls Royce Pearl 10X engines and comes equipped with Dassault’s new neXus flight deck; it has a 13,900-kilometre (7,500-nautical-mile) range and a Mach 0.925 maximum cruise speed.

    The Falcon 6X

Dassault expects the Falcon 6X, which it claims is the first ultra-widebody business jet, to receive type certification next year. Although Dassault introduced the aircraft in 2018 and completed its first test flight in March 2021, the 6X has already begun winning awards, including a 2020 International Yacht & Aviation Award for interior design and a 2021 Red Dot: Best of the Best award for its premium cabin design. A fourth test aircraft with full interior is to fly before year’s end, and then depart on a global promotional tour.

Dassault says the Falcon 6X has the largest, most comfortable cabin in the long-range business jet segment, and further boasts that it has most advanced civil variant of the manufacturer’s Digital Flight Control System. The cabin measures 1.98 m (6.5 ft) high by 2.6 m (8.5 ft) wide by 12.3 m (40.4 ft) long. The 6X has a 10,186-km (5,500-nm) range and a top cruise speed of Mach 0.90.

    The Falcon 8X

The updated ultra-long-range Falcon 8X that Dassault will display at NBAA-BACE features a restyled and reimagined cabin design providing greater comfort, connectivity, and productivity, Dassault says. Features include new LED lighting, touch controls flush-mounted in cabin side ledges, and a new cabin management system.

The Falcon 8X’s three P&W Canada PW307D engines propel the aircraft to a maximum speed of Mach 0.90 and a 11,945-km (6,450-nm) flight range. Announced in 2014, the 16-passenger business jet entered service in 2016 and features a third-generation EASy Flight Deck with optional FalconEye Combined Vision System.
